National Park # 60 – Gateway Arch NP
The Jefferson National Expansion Memorial was established under the Act of May 17, 1954. The Gateway Arch was designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen in 1947. When Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in the State of Missouri will be renamed to Gateway Arch National Park, it will become the 60th National Park of the National Park Service.
Update February 22nd 2018: On Thursday, February 22, 2018, the President signed into law: S. 1438, the “Gateway Arch National Park Designation Act,” which re designates the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in the State of Missouri as the “Gateway Arch National Park.” link

February 7th 2018 House agreed on Bill to rename Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in the State of Missouri to Gateway Arch National Park.
December 21st 2017 Senate voted for Bill to rename Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in the State of Missouri to Gateway Arch National Park.
June 26th 2017 – Senator Roy Blunt introduced Bill S.1438 to rename Jefferson National Expansion Memorial to Gateway Arch National Park.
